About Two Bamboo Mahjong + Meg
Welcome to Two Bamboo (named after my two sweet girls, and yeah, it’s just fun to say)!
I have never been a black, gray, white or neutral color kind of girl. My whole mood shifts when I see fun patterns and perfect palettes. Those two things make Mahjong my happy place.

I discovered Mahjong years ago as that tile-matching game on my phone. When I traveled to Asia for work, I purchased a small set in a shop similar to Walgreens, came home, and tried to play. That is when I discovered that what I thought of as "Mahjong" was not what I thought it was. Also, my set had instructions in Mandarin, so that wasn't going to be learned any time soon. I put the set in a drawer and kept playing the app on my phone.

Fast forward 14 years, and my youngest daughter asked for a Mahjong set for her birthday. Remembering my brief foray into learning the game, I decided to take a fresh look. That is when I discovered tiles the colors of sherbet, Cowgirl themes, and rich Chinese history. Icons featuring flowers, pagodas, and... whoopee cushions (?!) in beautiful colors that made me smile. Mats were gorgeous gamescapes (I think I just made up a word) to play on and lift my mood. I was instantly obsessed and asked for a set for my own birthday (sorry, Violet. I'll let you play with my set though! I promise.)
My Mother says I am a “child at heart,” and that is completely true! So, when I fell in love with the game of Mahjong, I just dove in and started learning, teaching, playing, and sharing it with my family and friends. If you know me, you know that if I find something fun and you're not aware of it, I won't stop talking about it.
I am in the branding and design industry, and I have created stationery and gifts for companies such as Vera Bradley, Lilly Pulitzer, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), and The Beatles, among others. When I first saw what was possible in Mahjong design, my product development background kicked in, and I knew I had to find a way to contribute to the game's design and beauty. One way was to open a Mahjong studio and sell the sets I've fallen in love with. So that is what we are doing!

Two Bamboo Mahjong invites you to come in, learn the game, play with friends (maybe even make a few), and of course, find your perfect mat and tiles.
